General Engineering Stream Selection
- Candidates must attempt the General Engineering part (Part-A, Part-B, or Part-C) in both Paper-I and Paper-II based on their educational qualification stream selected in the Online Application Form.
- For example, Civil stream candidates must attempt Part-A (Civil & Structural) in both papers, Electrical stream candidates must attempt Part-B (Electrical), and Mechanical stream candidates must attempt Part-C (Mechanical). Failure to do so will result in rejection of candidatur.
Question Type and Language
- Both Paper-I and Paper-II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple-Choice Questions only.
- The questions will be set in Hindi and English only.
Negative Marking
- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
- There will be a negative marking of one (01) mark for each wrong answer in Paper-II.
- Candidates are advised to keep this in mind while answering questions.

SSC JE Paper-II Syllabus: Mastering Your Core Discipline
After clearing Paper-I, you will face Paper-II, a 2-hour, in-depth examination focused exclusively on your engineering branch. This paper consists of 100 questions for 300 marks, making every question highly valuable.
Part-A: Civil & Structural Engineering
